People are saying it is ‘chilling’, ‘harrowing’ and ‘phenomenal’
Netflix released a new horror movie for the Halloween weekend called His House, and already the reviews are praising it as one of the best films of the year. It currently has the perfect score on reviews website Rotten Tomatoes and has shot straight into Netflix’s top 10 list.
The film is all about a refugee couple who manage to escape from war-torn South Sudan, but then they find themselves caught up in another frightening situation, as their new English home appears to be haunted.
The reviews of His House say it’s “terrifying ” and “harrowing” . Here’s what everyone has been saying about the new Netflix horror film.
Currently, reviews of His House on Netflix have given it a 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes
It’s not often a film gets the “certified fresh” rating and the perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, but His House does. Some of the top reviews say: “A fantastic social thriller and one of the best films of the year!” and “An absolute knockout. When we’re looking to the horror genre to tell us stories with such emotional resonance… This film does it just fantastically.”
Other reviews say His House on Netflix is “as strong a horror debut you can ask for”, “bone-chilling” and “riveting, harrowing and intelligent”.
Twitter is also very impressed with the film. People there have been calling it “terryfying”, “gut wrenching” and “phenomenal”. Mike Flanagan, the creator of The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor, tweeted saying: “HIS HOUSE on Netflix is a stunning debut. Jaw-dropping. Remi Weekes is the real deal. #HisHouse”.
