Bynes stars as Jenny Taylor, who's a little too obsessed with rock star Jason (Chris Carmack). She gets a job at Jason's favorite resort, hoping to meet him, and her best friend Ryan, who harbors feelings for an oblivious Jenny, comes along. Jenny gets the chance of a lifetime when she and Jason are marooned together.

It's not far from the resort, but Jenny doesn't let Jason know that, hoping he'll fall in love with her as long as he believes they're truly stranded. Jenny has to learn the hard way that lying doesn't pay off, and that love was even closer than she thought in the form of Ryan.

She is unapologetically her creative, vivacious self, but runs into problems quickly with her father's strict and proper lifestyle. Daphne is forced to abandon who she is to fit in and finds that it's too big a price to pay. Though her presence has changed Henry's life for the better, and this time, she got her wish: he comes after her and her mother in the end.

5 She's The Man (43%)

Viola Hastings (Bynes) is a teenage girl with a dream to play soccer. When her team gets cut at her school, her dream becomes harder to achieve. That is, until she gets the perfect opportunity when her twin brother takes off to pursue his music career, and she takes his place at school, dressing as a boy, and begins to play for the boys' soccer team. Viola has her challenges made as she tries to be "one of the guys" and improve her soccer skills, with the help of her crush, Duke (played by Channing Tatum).

There's a lot of complicated relationships at play, further adding to the film's overall comedy, but what's high school without complications?

4 Big Fat Liar (44%)

Kaylee helps Jason pull all kinds of schemes to make Marty's life miserable so he will admit his wrongdoing, much to the audience's amusement.

3 Robots (64%)

Amanda Bynes lends her voice in this computer-animated 2005 film as Piper, the sister of Fender, who's voiced by Robin Williams. Piper likes to kick butt and is ready and willing to participate in Rodney's (the protagonist's) fight to bring back Bigweld so he can help the robots that are being "outmoded", as the current head of Bigweld's company, Ratchet, has stopped making spare parts for them.

Piper is feisty and funny, the perfect role for Bynes, and provides plenty of comedic moments in the film, especially given her dynamic with her brother Fender as they give one another a hard time.

2 Easy A (85%)

Amanda Bynes in Easy A

Bynes plays a different kind of role in the form of Marianne Bryant, who's considered something of a prude at her school and who is a devout Christian. She overhears Olive telling her best friend Rhiannon a lie in which she lost her virginity over the weekend, and Marianne spreads that information around the school.

Things quickly get out of hand, and Marianne certainly judges Olive to no end. Marianne doesn't make Olive's life easy, but she does serve as a suitable villain for the film's plot.

1 Hairspray (91%)
