It’s time for another epic showdown, and with Raya and the Last Dragon recently in theaters and the live-action Cruella coming in just a few weeks, what better time is there to find out, once and for all, what the greatest Disney animated film is? Of course, the pioneering studio has been at it since they released their first feature-length animation, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, all the way back in 1937, so we had to find a way to narrow things down a little.
Using our Tomatometer-ranked list of all Disney animated movies (linked below) as a guide, we only included the top 64 best-reviewed, theatrically released films and then seeded them in a similar fashion to a sports tournament. That may seem a bit counterintuitive at first, but the end result was rather interesting, thanks to some bona fide classics and genuine fan favorites that you might be surprised to learn have lower Tomatometer scores than you assumed. Think Peter Pan, Lilo & Stitch, The Emperor’s New Groove, and yes, A Goofy Movie.
With all that said, you know the drill. Vote for your favorites below before polls close on Monday, May 10 at 10pm PT and help take us into the second round of the Disney Animated Films Showdown!
